Description - top

This documentation file is a very short overall description of each area of the plugin. It is just to give you general idea. Most of the documentation is inline. Each option has its italic text that best describes what it does. Our suggestion is to go over this document quickly and then go play with the plugin in your admin area. :-)

Installation and Activation - top

Unzip the .zip file that you downloaded from CodeCanyon. Look for a file called otw-portfolio-manager.zip. This is your plugin's zip file.

Install the plugin just like any other Wordpress plugin. There are two ways to do that:

When activated the plugin will place one menu in your WordPress left menu section called Portfolio Manager.
Plugin Menu

Portfolio Items - top

Portfolio items are the actual items of your portfolio. They are organized in a custom post type called Portfolio. They also have custom taxonomies called Categories and Tags which will help you organize your portfolio items.
You can see full list of all uploaded items in the Portfolio Manager -> Portfolio Items menu.

In the "OTW Portfolio Item single" metabox you can set specific settings for each portfolio post individually. If you do not do this the general settings that are valid for all of your portfolio posts will be applied. Those settings can be found in the plugin Options under Portfolio items single page.

Categories, Tags, Details - top

Categories, Tags, Details are custom taxonomies that will help you organize your portfolio items. Categories and Tags work exactly like categories and tags in the regular WordPress posts.
Details are also displayed in the single portfolio page for each item depending on the template you choose. Check on the examples under the Portfolio Items menu on the Live preview demo site of the plugin.
In the Portfolio Manger menu you have separate menus to help you manage Categories, Tags and Details.

In the plugin Options -> Portfolio items single page -> Template you can choose the template for your single portfolio items. You can choose from the default post template of your theme, 5 ready templates that come with this plugin or the custom templates that you create with the template builder that comes with this plugin.
To create custom templates go to Portfolio Manager -> Single posts templates in the plugin menu. Hit Add new and start using the editor. First create rows and columns. This is the skeleton of the template that will make sure everything stays togerer and looks good on mobiles too. Then in the columns you can insert items - title, media, description, tabs, details, related projects, etc.

If you want to add a new list go to Portfolio Manager -> Add New List. Then select the template you want to work on, the posts that will be displayed in the template and set all the options you need. The options are grouped in tab sections so that is easier to find what you are looking for.
